Wouldn't recommend for weddings. The location is perfect, the function room is a generous size, great dance floor area. Such a shame! We originally booked 2024 but the lady we booked with was sacked 6 weeks later (we wasn't aware of this, no contact from the venue), we arranged to go back in (with no knowledge of any changes) to which the room had been changed, they wasn't aware of any agreements made when we first booked, was told we could access the room the night before to decorate for the wedding reception that day after, was told we had the room till 1.00am, the outside area had been changed. We discussed our original plans which we was told couldn't happen. We still went ahead hoping that the day had been now planned on their system, requirements had been noted etc. Arrangements: room decorator could gain access 08.30 morning of the wedding with help from the staff to set the tables. Table covers/chair covers hire from WSC, access to the kitchen. The morning of our wedding our room decorator arrived, no staff to assist, bar staff un aware of wedding that day, 4 tables set out (they was aware there for 60 guests), the table cloths/chair covers were mucky, greased not worth £150 to hire!, kitchen was locked so cake unable to be placed in fridge as we was told it could. The staff on the day were as helpful as possible, they was friendly, welcoming & helped organise the room once they were aware of the plan and arranged tables etc. Thank you to the day staff so much! Advertise events such as party's, weddings, christening etc.. but seem more interested in the sports side of things therefore not much help/effort goes into the functions unfortunately.

We catered a wedding for a lovely couple at the weekend. Despite having booked the venue over a year ago the couple were told 2 days before the wedding that their vendors were not able to use the clubs mains power. Very expensive generators had to be hired. It turns out that on many levels the venue manager have been horrible to deal with If you’re planning an event in the area - TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Tremendous amount of work been done at the club by the new management. We now have 4 new Padel Tennis courts. The bar areas have undergone extensive restoration and are much more comfortable. More recently, the badly potholed car park has been resurfaced. A good place to visit or hire out for events close to the city centre.
