Slow service, inflated prices and disappointment. For a place this is meant to be an enjoyable outdoor experience, today was far from that. Around 1:30 we arrived at the restaurant and placed our drink and food orders at the same time. The drinks took about 20-25 mins to arrive. At 2.30, the food still did not arrive. When we queried, the waitress stated it would be another 15mins. So almost an hour for a couple toasties? The waitress had mentioned that the toasted tortillas are pre-made and it’s not busy so the food would not take long. How is it possible the food takes this long? Ultimately, we had to be somewhere at 3pm so we had to leave without eating the meal. While the manager was charismatic and apologetic, this should not have occurred. We ordered some almond croissants from their take-away stand. For the price point for R85/croissant, I cannot say that it is value for money. I live in the area and made family go out to the way to visit us at the park restaurant. Will never make this mistake again and rather support nearby vendors for a coffee. Notes: There was rubbish around our seating

While the event itself went well in many ways, the lead-up was quite frustrating. We struggled to get clear feedback and confirmation regarding the final arrangements, and unfortunately what was delivered did not fully match what we had initially requested. This lack of communication made the planning process stressful and disappointing. That said, I want to strongly commend the waitstaff on the day. The waiters (Terrance & Sibuso) were fantastic — attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly throughout the entire event. Their excellent service made a big difference and helped ensure our guests still had a positive experience. With better communication and follow-through during the planning stage, this venue has the potential to be much better.

I enjoyed the hike, we treated ourselves to a drink and cheesecake.
